The incumbent Congress MP Hibi Eden, son of former Ernakulam MP George Eden, has again been field by the Congress for 2024 Lok Sabha elections. George Eden had won Ernakulam parliamentary constituency in 1998 and 1999. Earlier George Eden had won the Ernakulam assembly in 1991 and 1996. 

Seven assembly segments falling under the parliamentary seat of Ernakulam are Kalamassery, Paravur, Kochi, Ernakulam, Thrippunithura, Thrikkakara and Vypeen.

• The Christian church plays a crucial role in the poll outcome of the Paravur assembly seat under Ernakulam Lok Sabha seat.
•  Vypeen assembly seat falling under Ernakulam parliamentary constituency came into being before 2011 in place of Njarackal assembly constituency.
