Narayan entered the legislative assembly of Jharkhand in 2014 by the winning
the Bokaro seat which he again won in 2019.

he defeated Ashok Chaudhary of the JD (U) by a margin of 5041 votes.
Bokaro is
one of the six assembly seats that combine to create the parliamentary
constituency of the Dhanbad which is currently held by Dulu Mahato of
the BJP. Other five assembly segments of the Dhanbad parliamentary constituency
are Sindri, Nirsa, Dhanbad, Jharia and Chandankiyar.
